Challenge

For over 50 years, Lega del Filo d’Oro has been dedicated to assisting, educating and rehabilitating deafblind individuals, empowering them to live their fullest lives. They have established a robust fundraising program in Italy and were looking to diversify their funding sources through institutional and major giving in the United States. This will support personalized multidisciplinary programs for users and innovative research, as well as contribute to the completion of the state-of-the-art National Centre complex, increasing Lega del Filo d’Oro’s capacity and efficiency in providing excellent, innovative services to deafblind users and their families. While Lega del Filo d’Oro is a recognized brand in Italy, the organization lacked any informational materials and communication tools in English and has little visibility in the United States.

Solution

We helped Lega del Filo d’Oro increase their visibility, awareness and fundraising by:

  • An emergency email the day of the announcement, followed by a two-part email series
  • Conducting a feasibility study to define institutional and individual giving prospects and create a unique positioning statement and fundraising strategy.
  • Creating an institutional brochure in English.
  • Creating an annual report abstract in English.
  • Creating an English language website dedicated for an American audience, complementing the existing Italian web presence.
  • Organizing meetings with interested stakeholders and institutions integral to building Lega del Filo d’Oro’s network in the US, including the Embassy of Italy in the United States and the Italian Consulate in New York City.

Results

  • Lega del Filo d’Oro now has multiple English language materials to share with interested stakeholders.
  • The website allows an English speaking audience to engage with Lega del Filo d’Oro online for the first time, and catch up on the latest news and events.
  • We will help them organize an event with the Italian Consulate in New York City in 2018.
